NextCentury Transceivers, Repeaters, and Gateways do not need to be powered on or unpackaged in order to be programmed. Complete programming can be done by scanning the serial numbers located on the hardware or the containers. This method has been used to greatly reduce time spent on programming equipment and can be done via the Web-Portal or the Mobile App.
The following slides depict how to program the NextCentury Data Gathering System via the Web-Portal. For directions on how to perform programming utilizing the Mobile App, click HERE.
|Using a permanent marker, label the Transceivers with the unit that they will be programmed to.|
|Locate the property you would like to set-up.|
|Click "+ Add Gateway" to add a Gateway to the property.|
|Enter the Gateway Information, provide a four-digit PIN number and click "Save". When the Gateway is powered on, you will need to enter the PIN to unlock the screen.|
|The Gateway marker will appear over the Property marker. You can move the marker to the appropriate location.|
The Gateway automatically syncs with the NextCentury Cloud every 30 minutes.
You can manually sync the Gateway by clicking on the
"" icon. The last time the Gateway synced is shown on the right.
|Click the "Layout" button to begin programming equipment.|
|Choose the desired Utility and begin to program equipment by clicking on "Start Programming". The grid will become editable.|
|Here we can switch between Buildings, and set Unit information.|
|Select the first cell.|
|Scan or manually enter a Transceiver serial number. The Meter Type, Multiplier, and Units will auto-populate if added in the property settings. You can also scan/manually enter the Meter ID at this time if applicable.|
|When you have finished, click "Finish Programming" to Save.|
|After clicking "Finish Programming", the grid will become disabled.|
|Next, you can add any Repeaters to the Property. Click "+ Add" to do so. Use this method for Third Party Repeaters as well.|
|Enter a Repeater serial number and any notes if desired. Move the Repeater marker to the appropriate location and click "Save" or "Save and Add Another" to program additional Repeaters. The location can be moved at a later time.|
|The added Repeater has now been programmed to the property.|
